When we talk about traveling to the south of Iran, we remember islands like Kish, Qeshm and Hemga. It is rare to consider the Hondurabi coral island in our options for travel.

Hendorabi Island is one of the Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf. This island is a function of Kish section of Bandar Lange city in Hormozgan province located in the south of Iran. This island is a flat land with almost no natural complications.

Hondurabi is located between Kish Island and Lawan Island and it is 7 miles long and 4 miles wide and has an area of 22.8 square kilometers. The distance between Hendrabi and Chirouye Port is 9 km, Kish Island is 28 km, Langeh Port is 133 km and Bandar Abbas is 325 km.

The population of Hondurabi Island is about 97 people. The majority of the population of this island is Arab and they speak Arabic and Farsi. Since 2017, a couple from the city of Isfahan has settled in this island, which is known as the first reverse migration in the contemporary history of this island, due to the long-term decline of the island's population. The economic activity of most of the inhabitants of Hondurabi Island is fishing and diving.

In Hendrabi Island, there is a village called "Hendrabi" village. Near this village, the ruins of a village called "Al-Durat" can be seen.

Also, one kilometer southwest of this village, there are ruins of another village, which is known as "Al-Sara'a", in these ruins, various artifacts from a very distant era have been found.

The sources of water supply on the island are very limited and low, and its water consumption is provided through a desalination device.

There are no grocery stores, fruit shops, or even bakeries on the island of Hondurabi, and all the daily necessities of the people living on this island are procured from rural ports near Hondurabi or the islands of Kish and Lawan.

One of the characteristics of this beautiful island is its flatness. The highest point of Hondurabi is not more than 45 meters high and you will see almost no height on this island. Another feature of Hondurabi that makes this island attractive to visitors is the presence of historical attractions along with its natural beauty.

This island has pristine beaches with clear blue water. Coral beach is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of Lawan Island. On the sandy beaches of Lawan Island, you can also watch short-nosed turtles spawning. Turtles laying eggs in the second half of March is one of the most important tourist attractions of this region.

Due to the small population living in Hondurabi, this island is included in the group of sparsely populated islands. Old-fashioned houses with plaster or white facades, which are cultural attractions of the island's people, have added to the beauty of this island.

If you want to travel by land, you should go from Kish Island to Hondurabi. how about You have to go to Hondurabi by the boats that are in Kish fishing pier. When you board one of these boats, you will be in Hondurabi an hour and a half later.

Lawan Island, which is famous for its pearl fishing, is located near Hondurabi Island. Lavan Island has the clearest water among the islands of Iran and is considered the third largest island in the Persian Gulf after Qeshm and Kish.

Hondurabi Island has a hot and dry climate like most of the Persian Gulf islands. For this reason, the best time to travel to this island is during the cool seasons of the year, from autumn to early spring.
