Mir Emad Mosque of Kashan is one of the buildings of the Qaraqoyunlu Turks during the time of Sultan Jahanshah, which is most likely built on the foundation of a mosque from the Khwarazmshahi period. On the walls around and around the head of the door, there is also a useful collection of inscriptions and stone inscriptions and orders of the kings of Qaraqoyunlu, Safavid to Qajar, which reflect important historical information, customs and social traditions of the time, and the ways and methods of the past rulers. Mir Emad Mosque is one of the beautiful mosques with Iranian-Islamic architecture in Kashan and is built in the four-evan style. The fame of this mosque is due to its magnificent facade, which shows the authentic Iranian architecture well. When you enter the mosque, you will face a square courtyard surrounded by four porches. In the dome of the mosque, a beautiful and valuable pulpit is decorated with tiles. This pulpit is made of plaster and brick and an inscription is installed on it. Master Haider Kashi Tarash was in charge of tiling this pulpit and according to the inscription, the pulpit was built during the time of Abu Saeed Gorkani.
At the entrance of the mosque, a stone called Sangab can be seen, which is a large container that used to store water for drinking and ablution. In the past, one of the most spectacular parts of the Mir Emad Mosque was its altar, which was known as the golden altar of Fam Kashan, and today it is kept in the Museum of Islamic Art in Berlin. This altar dates back to the 7th century and was an amazing work of our country's artists. There are several inscriptions in the Mir Emad Mosque, each of which is related to a specific period, and with their presence, they have made the mosque more beautiful.
Below this inscription, there is another inscription that dates back to the year 899, on which a part of the orders of Abul Muzaffar Jahanshah Bahadur Khan for the people of Kashan is included. There are 14 inscriptions in the front of the mosque, each of which is related to different historical periods.
