good loan

Osveh, Cultural Institute of Qur'an and Atrat Osveh, Tehran,

In Islam, giving a loan to the needy is a very nice and good thing, but it must be done according to the conditions and customs, and the borrowers must pay their debt at the appointed time.
When someone lends money to another and forgoes possession of the property for a period of time and does not expect any profit, this question arises for some people, what is the motivation behind lending? Reward on the Day of Resurrection, Acquiring good manners, Cooperation, and other cases. Lending must be accompanied by sincerity and full satisfaction and must not be obtained from forbidden wealth.
Although the imams consider lending and financial assistance to the faithful as a good thing and recommend it a lot, but they consider borrowing a bad thing unless it is to meet one of the essential needs such as the need for housing or marriage, or social issues. It is like respecting the individual's position in the society.
One of the examples of prohibited and unseemly loans in hadiths is that people take loans to meet unnecessary needs and they are sure that they cannot repay their loans.
At the beginning of the revolution, there were a lot of good loans, but some people took their money from the good loans and put them in banks to earn interest, and they said that we would lend to others from the interest of our money. At that time, Grand Ayatollah Behjat said: Later, poverty in the society will increase and that is what happened.
In the verses of the Holy Qur'an that refer to loans, God knows the party to the loan, and in none of the verses does it refer to lending money to someone, because a good loan has God's intention and because no interest is considered in it. It is done only for the pleasure of God.
In verse 111 of Surah At-Tawbah, it is mentioned that the one who gives a loan is trading with God, and God trades people's property and lives in front of heaven.
Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said: Whoever lends money to someone, and sets a period for (payment) of it, and that loan is not collected within the specified period, for each day of delay, he will have the reward of one dinar in charity. .
In the verses that mention loans, it is actually said that those who give loans are making a deal with God, because they do not actually get any profit from people. For this reason, those who have an acceptable financial situation are obliged to lend to those who are in financial need in order to benefit from the rewards of this good deed, which is more than the reward of giving charity.
