Ashura day

Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram. This day is famous among the Shiites due to the events of Ashura in the year 61 AH, in which the greatest calamity of the world occurred and Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions were martyred in the land of Karbala in the war against the Kufa army under the command of Umar ibn Sa'd.
After the morning prayer, Imam Hussein (AS) organized his army, which consisted of 32 cavalry and 40 infantry, into three groups, and commanded one group to himself and the other groups to (Zuhair ibn Qayn) and (Habib ibn Mazahir). ) Handed over. He also handed over the flag to Hazrat Abolfazl (AS). Then the two armies lined up against each other and got ready to fight each other.
On the day of Ashura, imum Hussein (as) sent some of his companions to the enemy army to talk to them and to dissuade them from evil and crime by stating the facts and realities. The Imam himself, many times, stepped forward to advise the infidel army of the enemy and, by giving enlightening sermons, invited them to remain calm and not to shed blood and stopped
the war and struggle.
Har Ibn Yazid Tamimi, who was one of the brave and courageous commanders of Omar Ibn Sa'd's army, woke up and went to Imam Hussein (AS) and asked for forgiveness. The Imam also welcomed Har Ibn Yazid with kindness and strengthened his faith.
The enemy army ordered the attack when they saw that Hurr and several others accepted the invitation of Imam Hussein (AS) out of concern for the loss of other people. Omar ibn Sa'd officially started the war by firing on the companions of Imam Hussein (AS).

Ashura noon prayer:
At noon, Imam Hussein (AS), who attached special importance to prayer, ordered the cessation of hostilities and everyone stood up to pray. The enemy did not accept this interruption and continued its war. However, the Imam, with his few companions, performed the noon prayer in the form of a prayer of fear (a special prayer during the war), and some of the companions were assigned to protect the worshipers. Saeed bin Abdullah Hanafi was one of the bodyguards who shielded himself from any bullet fired at the Imam. He resisted until the Imam's prayer ended, then fell to the ground and was martyred.
With the martyrdom of his companions, Imam Hussein (AS) returned to the tent and appointed Imam Sajjad (AS), who was bedridden, as his successor, then said goodbye to his family and went to the enemy to fight. Imam Hussein (AS) fought the enemy alone for a long time and killed many. He would come to the tent at every opportunity and comfort the helpless children and women. On one of these returns, he brought his infant to the enemy to be watered, but the ruthless enemy did not show mercy to the infant and shot him. Imam Hussein (AS) returned the lifeless body of Hazrat Ali Asghar (AS) to the tent and continued the struggle. Imam fell to the ground due to many injuries and was martyred by the enemy after enduring many spears and swords. Shamar ibn Dhi Al-Jushn went to the half-dead body of the Imam and cruelly separated all his blessed head from his neck, then handed over the severed head to Kholi Asbahi to take to Umar ibn Sa'd.

After the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (as), the army of Umar ibn Sa'd, especially the wicked group of Shamar, attacked the tents of that Imam and looted the tents, looting cattle, clothes, chests, weapons and food.

In the evening of Ashura, Umar ibn Sa'd, in order to do more good deeds and to declare allegiance to Obaidullah ibn Ziad and the family of the Umayyads, ordered that the beheaded Imam Hussein (as) be taken to Kufa immediately and that Obaidullah ibn Ziad be informed of the end of Karbala. . The mission was to bring the holy head of Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein PBUH with Kholi Ibn Yazid Asbahi and Hamid Ibn Muslim. They arrived in Kufa at night. At that time, Dar al-Amara was also closed. For this reason, they spent the night in their house and in the morning of the eleventh day, they took the holy head of Imam Hussein (as) to Obaidullah.
