(A thirsty girl)
Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) was one of the daughters of Imam Hussein (AS) who was present in Karbala as a child.
According to some historical books, the name of the mother of Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) was Umm Ishaq, who was previously the wife of Imam Hassan Mojtaba (PBUH) and before she was martyred, she bequeathed to her brother Imam Hussein (PBUH) that she and her husband Umm Ishaq get married.
When Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) was born in the year 57 AH, Medina received another light and the small house of the Imam found new warmth. Sometime later, Umm Ishaq died and Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) was deprived of his mother's blessings. Imam Hussein (as) raised his son and advised his sister Zainab (as) to be a mother to Ruqayyah and to end his love and affection for her.
The farewell scene of Imam Hussein (as) with the Ahl al-Bayt on the day of Ashura was very heartbreaking, but his farewell to his daughter Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) was the last heartbreaking and liver-burning scene that you will read below. Hilal bin Nafi ', one of the enemy soldiers, said: I was standing in front of the line. I saw Imam Hussein (as) coming to the square after saying goodbye to his family. At the same time, he suddenly saw a girl who came out of the tent and ran to Imam Hussein (as) with trembling steps and introduced herself to him. Then he took the skirt of Imam Hussein (AS) and called:
Dear father, look at me, I'm thirsty
It was short to hear this, but it was thirsty from the tongue of a child, because Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) was upset that he sprinkled salt on the wounds of Imam Hussein (PBUH). Imam Hussein (AS) was so upset by his daughter's words that tears flowed from his eyes involuntarily and he said to his daughter with tears in his eyes: My daughter, I know you are thirsty, God is watering you, because she is my lawyer and refuge. Is.
Hilal Ibn Nafi 'says: I asked who this girl is and what is her relationship with Imam Hussein is (as)? They replied: She is Hazrat Roghayeh, the three-year-old daughter of Imam Hussein (as).
All the people who survived after the Ashura incident were taken captive by the enemy. A little girl was seen among the captives. This was the little girl of Hazrat Roghayeh. This girl went to (shãm city) with her aunt Zainab and other prisoners after her father's martyrdom.
A child's voice could be heard from the ruins of Sham. All the audience among the prisoners knew that this was the voice of Hazrat Roghayeh.
Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) had woken up and was looking forward to Imam Hussein (AS). At this time, Yazid ordered that the head of Imam Hussein (as) be shown to his daughter. When Hazrat Roghayeh saw the beheading of his father, he threw himself on the beheaded head of Imam Hussein (AS) with a shout and moan and died there.
The holy shrine of Hazrat Roghayeh (PBUH) is located near the grave of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) in Syria.
