Aladag Lar in Turkish language is composed of two words Ala and Dag Lar. The word ala means colorful and dag lar means mountains. Rainbow Mountains or Aladagh Lar are located in two separate areas: one in Mahenshan of Zanjan province and the middle of East Azarbaijan province, and the other in the north of Tabriz on the Ahar road. In fact, these mountains are spread over a large area of 70 square kilometers, and therefore it is possible to visit them from different parts of the two provinces of East Azarbaijan and Zanjan.
