Habib Ibn Muzaher

((Habib Ibn Muzaher))

Habib Ibn Muzaher Asadi (martyrdom 61 AH) was from the tribe of Bani Assad, the people of Kufa and one of the special companions of Imam Ali (AS) and one of the companions of Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS). He was one of the Kufis who wrote an invitation to Imam Hussein (AS) to come to Kufa after Mu'awiyah's death. When Habib saw the breaking of the allegiance of the Kufis, he secretly left Kufa and presented himself to the Imam, and was martyred on the day of Ashura in Karbala. His grave is in the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and near the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and he has an independent shrine from the other martyrs of Karbala.
Habib was a devout and pious man. He memorized the whole Holy Qur'an and worshiped and worshiped God every night. According to Imam Hussein (AS), he recited the Qur'an every night. He had a clean and simple life.
Habib went to Kufa with Imam Ali (AS) and in all wars he was considered by his side as one of the special companions and bearers of that science and knowledge. After Mu'awiyah's death in 60 AH, Habib and a group of great Shiites of Kufa, such as Sulayman ibn Surad, Musayyib ibn Najbah and Rifa'ah ibn Shaddad Bajli, refused to pledge allegiance to Yazid and wrote a letter to Imam Hussein (AS) They invited him to Kufa to revolt against the Umayyads, and when Muslim ibn Aqeel came to Kufa, they rushed to his aid.
Arriving in Karbala, Habib, as soon as he saw that Imam's helpers were few and his enemies were many, he said to Imam Hussein (AS): "Nearby, there are tribes of" Bani Assad ", if you allow them to go to them, help them "I invite you, maybe God will guide them." After the Imam allowed it, he rushed to them and began to advise and preach. But Omar Sa'd prevented them from joining the Imam by sending an army.
On the morning of Ashura, Imam Hussein (AS) made Habib Ibn Mazahir the commander of the left wing of his forces, Zuhair Ibn Qain on the right wing and Hazrat Abolfazl (AS) with the flag in the heart of the army. Habib ibn Mazahir, at that old age, wielded a sword like a hero, and killed 62 enemy men. At this time, Badil ibn Sarim Aqfani attacked him and struck him in the face with a sword, another attacked him with a spear, until Habib fell from his horse to the ground, then Badil ibn Sarim cut off his head. During the burial of the martyrs of Karbala, the tribe of Bani Assad buried Habib, who was one of the elders and respected by them, ten meters away from the grave of Imam Hussein (AS) independently and separately. Later, this shrine was located inside the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and in the south porch.
