Personality psychology

Personality psychology is one of the largest and most popular branches of psychology. You have probably encountered questions like these in your daily life: Why don't we always act according to our values? Is a person's behavior due to their personality, or is it due to their environment? By studying and pursuing personality psychology, you can find answers to many of these questions and find solutions to them. Personality in English ,This word comes from the Latin word persona. Persona refers to the masks used in theater. Artists use these masks to portray different roles or to hide their identities. In its most basic definition, personality is a specific pattern of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that makes a person unique. Personality originates from within the individual and is relatively consistent throughout life...
Personality psychology is based on the most famous theories of personality psychology. These theories were proposed by a number of famous thinkers such as Sigmund Freud and Erik Erikson. Some theories attempt to examine a specific aspect of personality.
Research on heredity suggests that there is a link between genetics and personality traits. One way to study this approach is to study twins. This assessment examines which traits may be related to genetics and which traits are related to environmental variables.

Theories of some thinkers emphasize the importance of free will and individual experience in personality development. These theorists propose the concept of self-actualization. Self-actualization is an inherent need for personality development, and this development leads to behavior.

Extraversion-Introversion Personality:
Extroverts are sociable and eager for excitement and change. They are usually known as carefree and optimistic. They are more likely to take risks and are interested in excitement. Introverts are on the other end of the scale. They are quiet and conservative. They avoid feeling and being excited when they are overly excited. They usually plan their actions and control their emotions. Introverts are usually serious, reliable and pessimistic. It is interesting to know that personality change is possible. A person's level of neuroticism is determined by the reactivity of their sympathetic nervous system. Usually, the nervous system of stable people is less reactive in stressful situations and remains calm. On the other hand, a person with a neurotic personality is very unstable and prone to overreacting to stimuli. These people may quickly become anxious, nervous, or fearful. They are highly emotional and respond quickly to stress.
There are many personality traits that combine to create unique personality types. Ever since Hippocrates and the ancient Greeks proposed four main temperaments, people have been looking for a way to categorize personalities. As we mentioned, today, psychologists classify personality types based on five basic traits: openness to new experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. A more recent model called the Hexagon introduces honesty and humility as a sixth key trait. Personality types are very broad. For example, in psychological tests, people with a Type A personality are described as organized, demanding, competitive, and anxious. However, there is little empirical support for this idea. Psychologists who study personality believe that such a typology is too simplistic.
