self-study

Osveh, Cultural Institute of Qur'an and Atrat Osveh, Tehran,

Self -Study;
Self-study means self-learning and the correct method of self-study is actually the correct way to learn a language by personal study without the need for a teacher or a classroom. Any time you are studying a language somewhere other than a classroom, you are actually self-studying. As a result, even a person who regularly attends language classes needs self-study because without it, the speed of progress in language learning will not be satisfactory.
Learners who want to learn English from scratch on their own, without the need for a teacher. It is not recommended to learn English on your own. These learners need to start with an experienced teacher who can teach them English in the right way and make them interested in learning English forever. Because these learners are not familiar with the basics of the English language and many facts about it, they may form a wrong image in their minds about the English language, which will prevent them from ever learning the language.
Learners who have attended language classes for a while and have reached intermediate and upper intermediate levels and now plan to continue learning English as a self-taught teacher.
These people are familiar with the English language to a great extent, and if they have the necessary planning, hard work, and motivation, it is possible for them to learn the language to a high level using a self-taught teacher. Of course, perhaps only 5% of this group of learners can go this route alone, and they are also advised to learn the language with the help of a teacher or by attending language classes and in a completely systematic way.
Students who attend class and interact with the teacher also read textbooks on their own to strengthen their language and make faster progress at home.
That is, if you are learning English in classrooms and under the supervision of English teachers, you should know that regular study of self-study language resources in addition to the textbook is essential for your progress. It can be said that a small percentage of these people can learn the language well without self-teaching. In fact, it can be said that self-teaching of English is an excellent and necessary supplement to learning the language, but it does not seem to be enough on its own and you definitely need a teacher to ensure your learning. There are various main methods for learning vocabulary through self-study. You can refer to the article on increasing your vocabulary to learn about these methods. But what you should pay attention to here is that for every word you learn, you should check all its different aspects in an English-to-English dictionary. First, you should learn the meaning of the word with examples and in the context. Then check its spelling and pronunciation. Be careful not to memorize any word without its correct pronunciation because not only can you not use it effectively, but with the wrong pronunciation, you may convey the wrong and sometimes even rude message to the other person.
In the next step, you should check the word stress and its role in the sentence, whether the word in question is a verb, noun, adjective, or... Then you should check the prefixes and suffixes in question and check its families. Also, checking the semantic combination of this word with other words can help increase your language knowledge.
