Fall students

December 16th is called Student's Day in our country; In fact, this day commemorates 3 students who were martyred by the tyrannical regime in protesting the official meeting between US Vice President Nixon and Shah Pahlavi shortly after the disgraceful American coup d'état on August 28.
This day, in memory of the three students who protested the official visit of Richard Nixon, the vice president of the United States of America, and also the resumption of relations between Iran and Great Britain, on 16 December 1332 (about four months after the coup d'état on 28 August of the same year) in the university. They were killed in Tehran, it is commemorated. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution told a history of this event in a meeting with professors and students at the University of Science and Technology on December 24, 2007.He said: "It is interesting to note that December 16, 2032, in which three students fell to the ground and blood, happened almost four months after August 28; That is, after the August 28 coup and that strange suffocation - the strange repression of all forces and everyone's silence - suddenly an explosion occurs in the space and in the environment by the students of Tehran University. Why? Because Nixon, who was the vice president of the United States at that time, came to Iran. As a protest against America, as a protest against Nixon, who was responsible for the August 28 coup, these students strike and demonstrate in the university environment, which of course face repression and three of them are killed. Now 16 Azar in all years should be identified with these coordinates. 16 Azar belongs to anti-Nixon students, anti-American students, anti-dominion students.
*History and description of the event of December 16, 1332
In the 1320s and early 1335s, after the fall of Reza Shah Pahlavi's government and the creation of a more open environment, political activities among the students of Tehran University (the only modern institution of higher education in Iran at that time) increased greatly. During this period, Tudeh party had a lot of influence among students, as according to various reports, more than half of Tehran University students were members or supporters of this party. But during the prime ministership of Mohammad Mossadegh and the increasing popularity of the National Front in the early 1330s, the centrality of this party in the university was challenged. After the coup on 28 August 1332, the political organizations forming the National Front, for a short period in a weak coalition, engaged in political resistance under the name of the National Resistance Movement, and scattered demonstrations and strikes in the fall of the same year in Tehran University and also in the market, from The sentence was held on 16 Mehr and 21 Aban, in protest of Mossadegh's trial.A few weeks after these events, it was announced that the relations between Iran and Britain (which were severed during Mossadegh's prime ministership) will be resumed, and Richard Nixon, the vice president of the United States at the time, will come to Iran for an official visit. This issue provided the necessary excuse for the protests and on December 14, at the request of the National Resistance Movement, active students gave speeches in the classes, and unrest spread throughout the campus of Tehran University. The government at that time decided to suppress the protests to prevent any further action. After invading the university, soldiers and special forces attacked the classrooms and arrested and injured hundreds of students. The security forces fired shots at the technical college, which caused the death of three students of this college, namely Ahmad Kandachi, Azar (Mahdi) Shariat-Razavi, and Mustafa Bazarnia. The next day, Nixon came to Iran and received an honorary doctorate in law from the University of Tehran, which was clearly occupied by the military forces. The events of Azar 1332 represented the reaction of the coup government to student activities, followed by the systematic suppression of all other forms of opposition. December 16th was called Student's Day by the Confederation of Iranian Students Abroad, which was the meeting and discussion center for opponents of the Pahlavi regime outside Iran. After that, students started student strikes every year on this day, and in fact, December 16 became a good measure to evaluate the level of hatred towards the Shah's government and the ability and influence of the opposition among the intellectuals.
