Lar National Park

Lar National Park is one of the protected areas which located on the border of Mazandaran and Tehran province, and near the Southwestern hillside of Damavand. This area become a national park in 1354. However after the revolution, from 1361, its protection level has reduced to a protected area. Then in 1370, some parts of this area retuned into a national park, so hunting and shooting were banned. The thing that amazes us is the vastness of this area. This area around 30000 hectares! Lar plain has a great diversity of animals due to its suitable climate, numerous rivers and dense vegetation, and almost all living things and plants of the Central Alborz region are present in this park. Lar plain is the largest valley in Iran, which is located 70 km east of Tehran on Haraz road , the variable climate of this plain and its numerous springs have made it known as the land of a thousand springs. Lar National Park, which has an area of about 28 hectares, is a good place for hiking and its lake is a good location for swimming and fishing if allowed by the Environmental Protection Agency. Clouds around Damavand, if they allow, Lar is the best place to see and photograph the beautiful face of the Iranian roof.
In terms of wildlife, it has different species due to its special mountainous and aquatic position. The birds of this region are a total of one hundred species and include Partridge, Eagle, Sargapeh, Dorna, Flamingo, Delijeh, Dari partridge and... Golden eagle is a unique species that is not seen everywhere in Iran. It is true that the main habitat of the golden eagle in Iran is Golestan National Park and Arasbaran Protected Area. It is found in the mountainous heights of Alborz mountains, especially Lar National Park. . It lives only in this area from the north of Iran and is native to this region. Ecological factors, topography , soil and other vital factors, vegetation and diversity of Lar National Park have evolved for a long time and changes in its composition, especially under the influence of uncontrolled livestock grazing. In general, the vegetation from grassland type, including grasses reliable and bush and coatings alpine composed and medicinal plants and industrial food Lar valley is also diverse and has a reputation and a long history that can Valcke, Angelica, Stachys, licorice, Chicory, thyme, onion, Borage, shallot, barijeh, Named Astragalus, rabbit, mint, cockatiel, anemone and mushroom.
In 1359, with the completion of the construction of Lar Dam at the foot of Damavand Mountain near Lar National Park, it became one of the highest man-made lakes. Overgrazing over the past years, the creation of communication routes without investigation and evaluation and other activities without considering the existing capacity have caused environmental pollution, destruction of pastures and soil erosion and sometimes irreparable damage. Lar earthen dam type with clay core is 105 m high, 107 m high from the river bed, 1150 m long, the total reservoir capacity is 960 million cubic meters, the useful reservoir capacity is 860 million cubic meters, the lake area is 2531 meters high, 29 square kilometers, type of overflows The left bank emergency overflow with a capacity of 980 cubic meters per second is the classic right bank overflow with a capacity of 120 cubic meters per second. In 1359, water intake of the dam began, but with the increase of water height in the reservoir, a large hole was created in the body of the dam. Investigations showed that the limestone masses in the dam mirage caused water to escape from the reservoir and this was stabilized by increasing the discharge of Haraz springs at the bottom of the dam. Investigations also showed that there are deep and voluminous caves along the faults in the area and under the dam, for which cement injection is done to seal them. For this reason, the mentioned dam is not used as a reservoir dam and within the facilities, part of the water flow is used for agricultural lands of Mazandaran and the other part is used for drinking Tehran.
I should warn you to stay night in Lar because it is a national park, you must obtain a permit from the Environmental Protection Agency. When camping, you should also consider not being close to the riverbed. Lar's climate is highly variable and may rise with a sudden rain.

 Land of Clouds
Mazandaran province has always had many travelers due to its tourist attractions and good weather.
One of the interesting and very beautiful areas in Mazandaran province that has been considered by
many travelers and tourists is philband village.
This village is located 57 km south of Amol city and east of Haraz river. The access route to this
village is from Haraz road and in the side route towards Philband, between Alimestan forest and
Razkeh village.
It can be said that the reason for the beauty of this region is due to the clouds that float like the
waves of the sea, very beautiful cloud masses have covered the mountains and created a unique
view. But the density of these clouds decreases during the day, but they are usually higher at night
and close to morning.
The best time to visit Philband village.
In the cold seasons, living in this village becomes very difficult and in winter, Philband is deserted.
From the beginning of autumn, the cold starts in Philband and gradually, with the arrival of winter, it
becomes snowy everywhere. During this time, the villagers leave the area and move to warmer
villages on the outskirts of Philband.
In the spring, Philband is the land of four seasons. One day you may see the sun, rain, hail, snow and
rainbow at short distances in Philband; But the climate of Philband village is very mild in summer.
Philband has the best weather conditions in summer. The weather stays cool at this time, and even
on summer nights, the weather is still cold.
The best time to visit Philband village is spring and summer. From the beginning of spring, as we
move towards summer, the climatic conditions of this village become more suitable.
Where to stay in this area?
You have limited options for staying in Philband. The village does not have a hotel or guesthouse,
and due to its natural beauty and the desire of tourists to stay in the village itself, the best options
are rural and local houses. Of course, due to the high volume of travelers in spring and summer, the
price of Philband rural cottages goes up.
Equipment needed to travel to this area
In this trip, try to use warm equipment and suitable shoes and other mountaineering equipment and
bring the food items you need with you, because with the increase of tourism in this area, the price
of food will also increase.
The village of Sangchal and the beautiful forests of Chalav near the village of Philband are good
options for hiking in nature and you can spend hours exploring them. Around Sangchal, you will
encounter grazing cattle and beautiful wooden huts show off along the way.
I hope you enjoy going to this area and experience happy moments.

Qeshm, the Seven Wonders Island of Iran, has the most beautiful and unique natural phenomena. From Star Valley to Chahkuh Strait, Qeshm will surprise you with its beauties. Hara forests are one of these sights that is included in the list of seven wonders of Qeshm. This forest, also known as Qeshm Green Gold, is the habitat of trees that have roots in the water! Now we want get acquainted with one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in Iran.
Hara forests with an area of 22,000 km are located on the shores of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. These forests are one of the rare natural phenomena in the world and are protected. 2400 hectares of these forests are located on the northern and western coasts of 60 km of Qeshm Island. The trees of these forests are green all year round and their length reaches 3 to 6 meters. An interesting feature of these trees is that they have adapted well to salt water over millions of years, so they feed on salt water and naturally desalinate it by removing its salt.
Due to the favorable conditions, mangrove forests are a safe habitat for tropical migratory birds. Birds such as Great Heron, Great Egret, Coastal Egret, Indian Heron, Sharpfoot, Salim Gray, Gilanshah and Kakai. These forests are also excellent habitats for fish, mollusks and crustaceans.
The water level of this forest is normally about 1.5 meters. But during the high tide, the trees of this forest go under water and the influx of fish in the tide makes it a good place for fishing. Tides occur in these forests every 6 hours. Interestingly, at low tide, these trees appear to have grown on dry land.
In addition to boating and enjoying the unique scenery of these forests, in winter you can see a large number of migratory birds migrating to this area. For this reason, in addition to their natural importance, these forests are protected to protect their animal species. In Iran, these forests have been registered as national protected areas, biosphere reserves and international wetlands. These forests are also registered as a biosphere reserve in UNESCO.
The best time to travel to the Hara forests in Qeshm is from mid-autumn to May, when the temperature in this area is more suitable. To stay around it, you can use eco-friendly houses with cleanliness close to it or camp next to these natural beauties and spend some time in the heart of its wild and beautiful nature.
